Destiny 2 features a rotating artifact designed to shift the buildcrafting meta by granting the player new powers and abilities. The player is presented with a grid of options where they can spend points accrued through progression to buy powerful new abilities. These abilities are designed with the intention to enhance underperforming content and showcase new sandbox content.

Exotics – Armor

Exotic armor straddles the line between destiny’s world class gun play and it’s expressive ability-based build crafting. These armor pieces level up gameplay loops by adding novel bonuses, encouraging variety in build crafting. Designing these features is an iterative process fueled by collaboration with artists, animators, and engineers then honed by feedback from countless play tests. 

Transforms the Titan’s Burning Maul super into an single overhead slam dealing massive damage. The exotic gives players access to another one-shot super and some neutral game benefit.

Designed to compliment the new Arc/Prismatic Hunter aspect, Ascension. Gifted Conviction ties survivability to your ability to apply jolt creating an aggressive and dynamic playstyle.

Transforms the Solar warlock support kit into a challenge of positioning and situational awareness. Become a battle priest by keeping your allies alive without being pulled out of gunplay.


Exotics – Weapon

Barrow-Dyad was a massive collaborative effort between myself, narrative, and activity design. The exotic changes as the player swaps their Paths within the Season of Heresy. The weapon features two distinct payouts that come from the same core play pattern.
